The famous John Bradley's XV
Xv is the mother of all recent X11 image graphics tools.
This is my xv with all known patches included + my personnal ones.
I love this tool :->

Build instructions:
  unpack xv-3.10a-EL-4-src.tar.bz2
    if you use setup to install this src package, it will be
	 unpacked under /usr/src automatically
  cd /usr/src/xv-3.10a-EL
  make -f Makefile.cygwin
  make -f Makefile.cygwin install DESTDIR=/tmp/xv

Port Notes:

----- version EL-4 -----
Updated for new install scheme of Xorg (no more in /usr/X11R6)
Slight changes done in Makefile.cygwin

----- version EL-3 -----
- Updated this README file to follow the guidelines
- Modified windowid option to deal with hex numbers (as got from xwininfo)
- Added the CYGWIN-PATCH against the vanilla version
(without docs/*.ps and jpeg/tiff/unsupt/vms subdirs)

----- version EL -----
- Source tarball includes all know patches to xv-3.10a + my personnal ones:
	- saving of JPEG progressive files,
	- saving of TIFF files with Deflate and Jpeg compression,
	- file names including spaces and iso8859-1 characters,
	- a modified version of jp-ext-bzip2 for managing BZIP2 compression,
	- wheel mouse events (Button 4/5) do the same things as PageUp/Down,
	- modifications for Linux 2.2 and Cygwin (mainly mktemp/gets stuff).
	- new minor corrections for compatibility with Solaris and I forgot
	the whitespace in file names
- Executable are build with the DLL versions of the image libraries and the
included jpeg and tiff sources were deleted.
- Makefile.cygwin has a special target for installing the 'big' PS doc file
and this file is not in the binary version.
